
Gulf trainees conclude their training at the International Cooperative Beekeepers Association Institute in Baljurashi
The 'Foundations of Artificial Insemination of Honeybee Queens' course, held by the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development in cooperation with the Cooperative Beekeepers Association Institute in Al-Baha, concluded at the institute's premises in Baljurashi for beekeeping specialists from Gulf states, running 29 Rajab to 5 Sha'ban. General supervisor Dr. Ahmed Al-Khazim Al-Ghamdi said participants were nominees from ministries responsible for the bee sector in Gulf states, including Saudi Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture branches. He explained the course covered an important but underused technique relevant to queen rearing stations, strain improvement, and scientific research, with topics on the technique's role in developing bee strains, practical applications of all stages of mechanical insemination, and factors affecting queen quality. The training team was led by trainer Dr. Saad Al-Qahtani.
