
The Arab Organization for Agricultural Development carries out training courses in the field of honeybees
The Arab Organization for Agricultural Development (AOAD), in cooperation with the International Cooperative Beekeepers Association Institute, carried out two country-level training courses on honeybees at the institute's premises in Baljurashi, Al-Baha, for staff of the Saudi Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture. The first course, 'Foundations of Modern Honeybee Keeping' (23-27 April 2017, five days), served 15 Saudi cadres and covered the importance of modern beekeeping, the bee colony members (queen, workers, drones, brood), colony inspection and feeding, establishing apiaries and tools, and undesirable phenomena in colonies. The second course, 'Bee Diseases and Pests' (14-18 May 2017), served 23 participants and focused on scientific knowledge of bee pests and diseases, diagnosis skills, and control of diseases and pests.
