
Accreditation of the International Cooperative Beekeepers Association Institute in Al-Baha
A news report (Al-Riyadh newspaper, by Abdulrahman Al-Ghamdi) that the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development (affiliated with the Arab League) has accredited the International Cooperative Beekeepers Association Institute for Training in Al-Baha as a body to deliver the organization's training courses at local and country level. Prof. Dr. Ahmed Al-Ghamdi explains that the organization's president, Dr. Tariq Al-Zadjali, issued a decision assigning the institute to hold six training courses as a first phase: two for Gulf government bee specialists and four for Saudi Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture staff. The six courses, approved by the ministry, cover bee diseases and pests, queen rearing and artificial insemination, and beginner and advanced beekeeping, and form part of the institute's 20-course catalogue. The institute is staffed by PhD- and MSc-holders and equipped with a training apiary, honey-quality lab, tools exhibition, carpentry workshop, and a botanical garden.
