Aramco Sponsors a Pioneering Project to Develop Honey Production in the Al-Baha Region
A feature report on a flagship project supported by Saudi Aramco in Al-Baha to train limited-income individuals in honey production, centered on the International Cooperative Beekeepers Association Institute for Training (a building designed like a giant beehive). Aligned with Vision 2030's 'learn to work' principle, the initiative is run in partnership with the Cooperative Beekeepers Association and the Al-Jomaih Group and comprises six projects: assessing beekeeping in Al-Baha, diversifying bee products and raising beekeepers' income, qualifying the association to produce organic honey, building a bee-production training center, training and launching youth in beekeeping, and developing key bee pastures. Khalid Al-Subaie of Aramco's citizenship/public-relations unit describes trainee benefits, while Dr. Ahmed Al-Khazim notes the goal of attracting youth to modern beekeeping methods and providing small projects of hives and bees with a year of supervision and marketing support.
